List of potentially contaminated food continues to grow

The expanded recall of peanut butter and paste made by the Peanut Corporation of America (PCA) — the company linked to the nationwide salmonella outbreak — has forced food makers to pull more products off store shelves.
PCA expanded its recall on Wednesday to include all peanuts and peanut products made at its Blakely, Georgia, plant since 2007.
The company took that action after federal officials released an inspection report that revealed unsanitary conditions at the Georgia facility — including roaches and mold — and confirmed PCA shipped peanut products it knew had tested positive for salmonella.
The salmonella outbreak is now blamed for the illnesses of more than 500 people in 43 states and could be linked to the deaths of eight others.
